Volkswagen has added a high-specification trim level and a more powerful engine to the Amarok pick-up truck range.
The new Aventura variant sits above the current Highline model at the pinnacle of the line-up and boasts black design features around the door pillars and roof, as well as 20-inch grey alloy wheels and a body-coloured sports bar across the rear of the cab. An optional green paint job is also exclusive to the Aventura.
All this comes in addition to the existing Highline specification, which includes leather seats, front and rear parking sensors and side steps.
Meanwhile, VW has also introduced an uprated version of the existing 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, which will be offered on both the Highline and Aventura vehicles.
Where the previous version was all out of ideas at 221bhp, the newcomer manages 255bhp and, for short periods, 268bhp. There’s more torque, too, with the existing engine’s 500Nm upped to 580Nm.
The Aventura won’t arrive in the UK until September, and the official British pricing structure is unlikely to surface until the order books open in June. In Germany, however, the new model is set to cost around €49,000+VAT (roughly £43,000+VAT).
