Citroen is offering a year of free insurance cover to buyers of selected C1 city cars in 2020.
The scheme sees buyers aged 19 or over get free cover when they buy a C1 either with cash or on finance. However, the deal is limited to particular variants. Buyers of entry-level Touch versions are not eligible, but those choosing higher-spec versions are.
Even special-edition Origins and Urban Ride models are included in the deal. Convertible Airscape versions get the nod, too.
To be eligible for the deal, drivers must have a full UK licence and meet criteria such as limits on driving convictions and claims. Applicants must also be under 75, while the car must be registered after January 1, 2020.
“We are delighted we can now offer free insurance for retail customers from 19 years of age to make this already desirable car even more appealing,” said Citroen UK’s sales director, Eurig Druce. “This offer has been designed in particular to offer a helping hand to younger drivers, whose insurance costs are usually higher. By covering these costs we hope to get as many young drivers into a safer, brand new car that they can be proud of.”
